VSA at Martin County Home & Garden Show
Stuart, FL—- Visionary School of Arts (VSA) expands in 2012, and on March 2-4, 2012, VSA will be featured as a the new addition of a juried fine arts exhibition at the 26th Annual Home & Garden Show featuring the Martin County Orchid Society presented by the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce at the Martin County Fairgrounds.
Director, Lynne Barletta began teaching in 1980, piloting the Art taught by Artists programs in the Denver public schools. A professional artist since age 14, Barletta attributes much of her own art success to parents who encouraged her in the arts at an early age, placing her in private studies. “I loved my art studies at University of Northern Colorado, but I was most inspired by Master Pastelist Dee Toscano, and Betty Edwards, author of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (1999). I studied with each of them in the early 80’s, and still use their techniques to teach children and adults very effectively today,” mentions BarlettaDue to the overwhelming success of the programs offered in 2011.
VSA has expanded their services and their staff, along with Barletta, VSA is also co-directed by Alicia Posluszny; and the two have added three more experienced art teachers to the staff for the new year. Student interns also volunteer their time, as assistant teachers and mentors, bringing a full variety of fine art experience to each student. VSA’s upcoming spring semester will offer expanded services to include drawing, watercolor, acrylic, oil, sculpture, and ceramics. Students may also take classes on site for plein air painting and are taught how to prepare for competition entries.
Barletta also announced that, “We are thrilled to be invited to be featured; and to help promote a partnership between business and the arts in our community. On March 2-4, the Visionary School of Arts will be featured as a the new addition of a juried fine arts exhibition at the 26th Annual Home & Garden Show featuring the Martin County Orchid Society presented by the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce at the Martin County Fairgrounds.
”Moreover, “Our students and many top artists will be presenting their art to the community. VSA also has an outreach program at Banner Lake Parks in Hobe Sound. These students will also have opportunity to display their work at this show. We feel that it is not only about teaching art, but launching emerging artists from ages 6 to adults!” says Barletta.
